I think it's pretty safe to say that summer is officially in full swing!  The sunburn I picked up yesterday is serving as a nice reminder!  So, if you're sitting in an office reading this, make sure you get a chance to escape and enjoy the 92 degree high we're supposed to have today!  But anyway, onto business!

1.  Movie nights:  Start NEXT week.  There was apparently a bit of confusion on this.  Several people asked yesterday what time the movie was tomorrow...  Anyway, I'd actually be totally up for doing it tonight except for the fact that there's an additional council meeting added tonight, so both Angela and I wouldn't be able to make it.  In the meantime though, let's start putting together our list of summer movies.  Suggestions (other than the ENTIRE Star Wars trilogy or LOTR!!)?

2.  We are stocked up for the pool party this week.  Pat Powell was telling me yesterday that there are a ton of leftover burgers and such, and a bunch of ice that we can use for the sno cone machine.  Score!  Hopefully it's nice and hot again the week!

While we're on it:  any thoughts/suggestions on how the first pool party went last week?  Where can we improve?

3.  There are NO events this weekend?!?  Wait...that can't be right... Yep, sure is!  Enjoy 4th of July everybody!  Here's a fun poll:  what's everyone doing for the holiday weekend??

That's it guys, we'll talk more about camp in a seperate email later this week.

It’s June.  That means that in just a couple of weeks school will be out and summer will be here!  In Wildside language, that means that we speed things up, and before we know what’s happened, it’s mid-August and we’re all left scratching our heads and looking for Andy.  So get excited people!  This is the best time of year in the world of youth ministry, so let’s rock and roll!

  1. FWOTM is tomorrow!  Not kidding folks, let’s plan it now!  Throw in your ideas for games, worship songs, youtube videos, and any other ideas we can do to make this thing awesome!  Also…invite someone! :P
  2. Summer calendars will be out tomorrow.  I’ll email out the PDF tomorrow as well so that you’re not seeing it for the first time on Wednesday evening.  Since we already mapped out all the dates, there really shouldn’t be any surprises though.
  3. Camp sign-ups will start tomorrow too.  Our camp theme for Summer 09 will be “MOMENTUM”  Oroville…here we come
  4. The End Of The Year All Night Blowout is on June 12th.  That’s NEXT FRIDAY!  Start getting some extra sleep.

More stuff to come.  Let’s start with this.

DEEP FREEZE: WINTERCAMP

John has officially entered “camp mode” as of this morning.  We’re outta here in less than two weeks, and we’re about to pull of our biggest retreat yet!

BAKESALE!

Bake sale yesterday was more or less successful yesterday.  We raised a good amount of money, but we ended up with a lot of leftovers!  It’s ok, we’ll freeze them and take them to camp.  Also, there’s no way to tell how much money we raised because it was all just mixed in with the store money…oops!  At one point though, Brianna had counted over $200, so, not bad!

CONFIRMATION!

Confirmation went well yesterday I thought!  The cemetery trip is always kinda cool.  I got the impression that there were some good discussions going on in the different groups.  Andy, your lesson was great!  Jeana, thanks again for coming through with lunch.  Perfect!

Hola friends!  I hope everyone is having a good week!  The cards ARE kinda stacked against that though considering that taxes are due…  But, the weather is nice, spring is creeping up on us pretty quickly, and, considering that it’s already Wednesday, the weekend is pretty close!  So, as I sit here elbow deep in my tax forms trying to make sense of my Turbo Tax For Dummies For Dummies book, I’ll take a minute to start the conversation for the week!

  1. A bunch of kids are on spring break this week.  The result of this is that I’ve been asked several times today already if there is Wildside tonight.  So, just to clear things up:  Yes, we are having Wildside tonight, and yes, it will be grand!
  2. Denny Taylor AKA D-Tay by his friends on the streets…has fixed the pinball machine!  After several open-table surgeries, the pinball machine is good as new.  Enjoy!
  3. Wes and I are going to try “team teaching” tonight.  Chapter 6 here we come!  8 months later and we’re officially a third of the way through…
  4. There was much feedback about summer camp dates.  It sounded like what you guys were leaning toward was a Thurs-Mon trip.  So, and this is still tentative, what we’re probably looking at is July 23, 24, 25, 26, 27.  Depending on what you guys think of this, we can probably set it in stone next week.  I know you all were thinking about distancing the camp from 4th of July.  Is this far enough?  Too far into July?  Thoughts?
  5. Reminder:  Laser tag is Friday, April 24th.

That’s it for now!

As you can see we have a few more features up... and we should be going live tomorrow night at wildside!

If you are a leader you will get Publisher permissions.  This means that you have the ability to post, and publish articles, and events, and will be able to edit both... you will also have moderator powers on the forums...

If you are a wildsider you will get Author permissions.  This means that you have the ability to post articles and events, and edit your own articles and events... but you will have to wait for a publisher to look at it, and make sure its legitimate.  You will however be able to post on the forums all you want...

Also... Just for registering. you get access to the "photos" page, which will let you see all the wonderful pictures that I have been taking
